Android Jones

While looking around at artwork on the internet, I stumbled upon this:

I thought this was super cool, and I looked into it. As it turns out, there's a US digital artist who calls himself Andrew "Android" Jones who uses only computer systems to create his art. This amazed me. I had heard of people doing arts like this, but not to this extent. Out of curiosity, I searched him up and found his website. You can find it here as I have linked for you. What I found exceptional was the attention to detail. While you can use algorithms to repeat processes, it doesn't seem like that is applicable here, as the lines aren't all completely symmetrical. I could be wrong however. All in all, I encourage you to check out his site. He has some amazing pieces there that you can download for free.

Another Banner Year

It's a brand new year. New decisions to be made, new experiences to be had. 2013 has blown by like a breeze, and now 2014 has arrived, sweeping away the remnants of the past year. 2013 was amazing. Meeting new people, seeing things never seen before. The technological breakthroughs and advances. Just the experiences of living were exhilarating. Part of my New Years Resolution was to add music to the categories I will talk about on here. The transition from freshman to sophomore was exciting, however something doesn't feel quite the same. I feel... different than I ever have before. I'm not sure yet if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'll just have to wait it out and see where things go. Hopefully, 2014 will be another banner year, with even more exciting experiences than 2013.

Hey guys. This is an old drawing I did a few years back. I was really into the Crusades back then, so I drew a more dramatic and cartoon-like Knight's Templar. I hope you enjoy. I had another drawing lined up to post instead of this, but I was at a party this weekend and I was stupid enough to bring my sketchbook. Sadly, somebody spilled soda all over the page. I may be able to salvage it, but it's very unlikely. Anyways, I hope you enjoy.  I wish this was a little better, but whatever.

An Introduction

Welcome to The Pen and The Pencil! This blog is dedicated to my projects in art and literature throughout my high school years, and maybe so forth. I'm excited to get started, and I have a few posts lined up to be published, but I don't want to bombard this blog with projects, and not have anything to post later. I will try to upload at least one piece weekly. Feedback is appreciated!

As this is my first blog post, I have decided to post the first creative writing piece of my Freshman year in high school. The assignment was to write a piece of literature that included 10 of the assigned 15 words for that week. this is my first, and may be my favorite.

 Citizen Number : 57643128
 Journal Type : Regulation
My name is Jeremy Bernard, Citizen 57643128, and I am a Resident in Sector 38, District 4. I am twelve years of age, and have received my Journal only hours ago, as every twelve-year-old does. I need to explain my plight. The Government has control of everything, except what goes down in these journals. The Laws restrict The Government to look inside these journals. It is the only privacy us Residents have. They are the only luminescent essence of our life as a "free" Resident of Sector 38. I should explain what a sector is. Before the UCD (Unified Continental Districts) was created, there was the USA (United States of America). This USA was divided into "states." There were 50 of them. After The Government took complete control, and created the UCD, they turned these "states" into Sectors, which there are now only 48 of (Alaska and Hawaii were eliminated as a part of the UCD and left on their own). Sector 38 used to be called "California." Walls were built along the borders of the Sectors, and you need a passport to pass between them. It may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but it has become incoherent, creating a dystopian society. At first, people did not go with this idea of a society willingly. The Government was by starting a holocaust, slaughtering anyone who refused the offer of saftey and complete equality. They knew what was going on. The Government was trying to get absolute power over everything. The population failed in their resistance. What ahppened was worse than a holocaust. Americans were irrationally executed. Without resistance, The Government was able to easily take control over the entire country. The only problem is that The Government is listless to many of the Sectors, and many are beginning to abase and are deficient in neccesities. Luckily for me, Sector 38 is not one of them. But still, The Government we have is a copy, no, a parody of the one we used to have. We get to vote, but there's no use, the Sector Council decides who is the "leader." A puppet for their supremest regime is more like it. Yet people have grown accustomed to it, so I guess we'll just have to live with it. For now. I'm required to write in this journal daily, as it's part of regulation. But I'm going to come to a close here. I'll have to write more on this subject tomorrow, as I'm running out of daily memory on my Journal. Revolution will come, and The Government will fall at the feet of America. Stars and stripes forever!
